A bloodcurdling yell shattered the thick silence. It echoed across the deserted hall, causing goosebumps to rise on my back. The heart hammered inside his chest as I attempted to determine the location of the terrifying sound.
Was it human? Or was my imagination working wild in the gloomy stillness? I remained frozen in apprehension, struggling to act. Then, a figure emerged from the darkness.
